Bourdon Tube Mechanism

The Bourdon tube is a curved, flattened metal tube—commonly made from copper beryllium in scuba SPGs—that serves as a highly sensitive pressure sensor.

When pressurized, the tube naturally tends to straighten due to the internal fluid pressure. This movement is mechanically translated into a precise reading on the gauge face.

Its specific curvature and dimensions are engineered to accurately measure pressure changes within a defined range, ensuring reliable performance even in demanding underwater conditions.

Copper Beryllium Alloy

The luminescent dial ensures easy reading in low-light conditions, while the depth gauge includes a copper-beryllium diaphragm for fast and accurate readings, even at shallow depths. It also features an altitude adjustment screw for diving in high-altitude environments.
